The story behind Sri Rama Navami
Rama Navami celebrates the appearance day of Maryada Purushottam Lord Sri Rama, the 7th avatar of Lord Vishnu, in Ayodhya. Lord Rama embodies righteousness (Dharma), supreme virtue, filial devotion, and the ideal ruler. Observing Rama Navami establishes Dharma, clarity of duty, and peace in the heart.

Midday Puja & Abhishek
Lord Rama appeared at noon (Abhijit Muhurta). Perform Abhishek of Sri Rama idol/picture with Panchamrit at midday.

Rama Taraka Mantra Japa
Chant the sacred 13-syllable Rama Taraka Mantra or read chapters from the Valmiki Ramayana / Ramcharitmanas.

Panakam & Neer mor Offering
Offer traditional Panakam (jaggery-pepper lemonade), cooling buttermilk, and soaked moong dal prasad.

Cradle Ceremony (Palna)
Place a small baby Rama idol in a flower cradle and gently rock it while singing bhajans of Ayodhya.
Sri Rama Navami Mantra
श्री राम जय राम जय जय राम॥ ॐ दाशरथये विद्महे सीतावल्लभाय धीमहि तन्नो रामः प्रचोदयात्॥
Meaning
Victory to Lord Rama. We meditate upon the son of Dasharatha, the beloved of Sita. May Lord Rama illuminate our intellect.
How to chant
Chant 108 times using a Tulsi or Chandan mala at noon during the Abhijit Muhurta.
